PARIS FASHION WEEK F/W 2014: Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent's Fall Winter 2014 collection, was inspired by 1960s Mod. It was a collection full of mini dresses and skirts, paired with leggings or tights, boots and square heels, and jackets or capes. This is great clothing that could also work for warmer weather, because of the length. These looks could work for a wide range of body types and ages. For those of you who love wearing with long shirts, perhaps these mini dresses would be a classier upgrade to your style. Still comfortable, but provides more coverage than a tunic shirt will. I'm hoping to see these looks incorporated into mainstream fashion...because I could use some shorter dresses, after years of wearing maxis. The 1st collage features most of the collection, but I added the runway show video to the bottom of this post. The 2nd collage breaks down some of my favorite looks and fabrics. The 3rd collage features a sampling of the shoes, which are very 60s. I love the return of a chunky stable heels, combined with the lux fabrics and embellishments. The last collage is the makeup, which is a bold cat eye that could easily be recreated with a black cream eyeshadow or liner and black eyeshadow. The eyelashes are thick and black, which is iconic of 60s Mod beauty. Overall, this is a very wearable collection, that I hope inspires you all to add a little 1960s mod flare to your wardrobe.
